Welcome to StudentFinAidInfoStudentFinAidInfo - Financial Aid For Law School, College Financial Aid, Pell Grant Question: Is financial aid available for law school?
I am getting ready to attend law school and I have heard from many that the only sources of payment are scholarships and personal loans. I want to know if this is true and if one could fill out a FASFA or apply for any government aid to attend law school? ThanksAnswer: it might just be swelling that's pressing on a nerve, ...
it might just be swelling that's pressing on a nerve, but it could also be fracture (although you'd probably be in more considerable pain. You should probably go an have it looked at just in case.Answer: Good luck, but don't hold your breath.

There really is no FASFA for advanced degrees. Those are there for low income people to have a chance to get out of poverty and get a normal degree making above poverty incomes. If you want a master's or law degree you will have to come up with this money on your own or the above mentioned as you said. Does the college not offer fellowships or ways for you to work for the school to get your tuition knocked down? If you get stafford loans, I'm sure as a lawyer you will have the money to easily pay them back. If financial aid was available for advanced degrees- I would have master's and doctorate by now. :) good luck!Answer: Federal Stanford Loans will cover your tuition in part. The ...
Federal Stanford Loans will cover your tuition in part. The rest you might need some private loans. There are a lot of options. Scholarships, grants, and stipends may help subsidize your cost quite a bit. Check out the link below for some more information.Answer: You would still want to complete the FAFSA (Free Application ...
You would still want to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). FAFSA does not give out aid in of itself; rather it is a tool used to determine your EFC (Expected Family Contribution). Schools use the EFC in conjunction with the COA (Cost of Attendance) to determine a student's financial aid package.
As a graduate student you would not be eligible for federal grants such as Pell or SMART. You would still be eligible for federal loans (subsidized and/or unsubsidized) and work study).

FASFA will provide loans for part of your tuition. Formal aid is not common for law degrees.
You may wish to examine the graduate level JAG or ROTC programs. Some provide scholarships, some stipends, but they all provide a unique adventure.Question: Where can I apply for student financial aid for college?

Fill out a FAFSA onlineAnswer: that is great! the higher gpa/grades you make, the more ...
that is great! the higher gpa/grades you make, the more chance of receiving aid for school!=-)make sure you keep that high gpa, because by the time you get ready to graduate high school, you will be highly eligible to receive grants and scholarships!=-) but during your SENIOR YEAR you need to get with your parents right away and make sure they file their taxes early because you will need that information to fill out the FAFSA, preferably before the deadlines(which is usually during the month of march) the sooner you get your fafsa done the better, because alot of schools do "first come, first serve" awarding...but for now just focus EXTRA HARD on maintaining you excellent gpa, also start preparing for your psat/sat/act... good luck hun!!!=-)Answer: you have a really good chance of gettin financial aid ...
u have a really good chance of gettin financial aid especially if ur parents dont make much money... but go to your college counselor and get as many as scholarship applications as you can and sign up for which ever you feel would help you out & sign up for FAFSA asap when ur a senior. if you go to one of ur guidence counselrs they would be able to help you more but with the grades you have and the achievements you should be fine... goodluck =] we allll went through this hahaQuestion: What do I do for college Financial Aid if I have an International Parent?
I am an Alabama resident college student. I'm having trouble filling out FAFSA online. My mother lives in Germany; she has a US Social Security Number. My father is from the US, but he will not fill-out his income tax information for 2007. I am trying to apply for aid without being labeled as an international student. What can I do to complete FAFSA without breaking the law?Answer: How or where your parents live has nothing to do with you ...
How or where your parents live has nothing to do with you being labeled "International".
To fill out the FAFSA, if your parents are still presenting themselves as a married couple and your mother earns an income in Germany you have to convert her income to US Dollars and answer the appropriate questions. If your mother is in Germany because your parents are separated, you do not need her information.

For your father-if he is not filing taxes but is required by the IRS to file, sorry, you cannot apply for aid. If he is not filing because he is not required to by the IRS, report his income on the FAFSA where appropriate. Where your parents lives has no effect on your aid.Question: Financial AID- FASFA ????
I am currently a student and will be at FSU next year. I wanna apply for FASFA but I dont know if its worth it.
I worked last year and made around 15,000, not only do you have to put that info but you also have to include ur parents income. My parents probally make around 80,000 a year and own two houses. What are you talking about?! Applying for FAFSA is free! Though after carefully reading your details, it certainly seems like you won't recieve a lot of financial aid but you still might get something. $80,000 together, or each??
I make about $24,000/yr gross, and dad makes about $35,000/year gross, and I didn't get approved... but I think I saw somewhere that it said I didn't get approved because GPA was too low or something.
You'll get something, but probably not very much. My friend gets $12,000 each semester from FAFSA. Her dad is a Navy retiree and works at the same place I do and makes just little less than I do... But she graduated with a better GPA (I think)Answer: Depend on your age.
If your dependent (under the age of ...
Depend on your age.
If your dependent (under the age of 23), you will not be offered any money. I know because I made 13k and mom made 40k and I didn't receive anything but stafford loans. However, I would still fill out the fafsa because if you want stafford loan or certain scholarships you will be required to fill out the fafsa.
Now if your independent (0ver the age of 23) you may be offered a pell grant, state aid and stafford and perkins loans.Answer: If you have the cash (or your parents are paying outright) ...
If you have the cash (or your parents are paying outright) then you don't need to apply for financial aid.
It's been experience, when I have someone questioning if it is "worth their time"... they usually have the cash and probably will qualify for loans.Question: I have an EFC of 0 for FASFA. What kind of financial aid package can I expect to get? I do not have credit and
my parents have filed for bankruptcy and I have no one else to cosign student loans. should I be able to get enough aid that I can pay for college with a minimum wage job? I was told I can't get a loan in name, because I'm under 18 and I don't have a strong credit history.
From what I hear though, the federal loans aren't always enough.Answer: If your EFC is 0 and all the information is correct on your ...
If your EFC is 0 and all the information is correct on your fafsa and you meet other guidelines like no previous student loans then you will likely qualify for $4,731.00 for next year. You will also likely qualify for federal work study, and any state grant program as well.
You CAN get a federal student loan in your name. Freshman can borrow up to 3,500 per year in Subsidized Stafford loans. You do not need a cosigner or good credit to get a federal student loan. You might also qualify for Perkins, but this is up to the school...
Definitely do Work Study... here is a good book that explains what else you might qualify for.Answer: Hello,

Hello,
In regards to your question I would advice you to visit Clarkson Micro Finance Incorporated.
Few months ago when I had a bad credit a friend of mine introduced me to them, Inspite of bad credit they were able to lend me a loan of 25,000, British pounds within the space of two days of which I used to revive business, I think you too can do the same as well.
You can reach them via clarksonfinancescheme@yahoo.com

From Newcastle, England.Answer: Zero EFC means you qualify for the maximum Pell Grant if you ...
Zero EFC means you qualify for the maximum Pell Grant if you are a full time student. $4710 for the award year.
Hopefully your school will also have a Supplemental Grant (SEOG) for you too. Ask them.
You can qualify for student loans even under the age of 18. You will qualify for Stafford "Subsidized" Loan of $3500 if you are attending full time. This loan is not credit based and you do not need a cosigner.
Your parents should still apply for a Parent PLUS Loan. This loan is credit based and if they are denied, you then become eligible to borrow an additional Stafford "Unsubsidized" Loan of $4,000 for full time. Again, you will not need a cosigner as for you it is not credit based.
Ask your school if they participate in the Perkins Loan program and try to get that also, if you need it.Question: Financial Aid Help....?
I am currently a 3/4 time student but spring semester in March I will be Full time. Will financial aid be readjusted? The previous awards were based on the 3/4 time status. I know the amounts awarded are different for full time students. I am just not sure if they will change it now considering this is the end of the financial year? Please help!!Answer: Yes, it will be adjusted. If you were 3/4 time your were ...
Yes, it will be adjusted. If you were 3/4 time your were receiving 75% of the aid, at full time you will receive 100% of the aid.Question: Financial Aid?
I just received FAFSA SAR. It says that I am not eligible for a Pell Grant, but I may be for other aid, which I doubt I will. Anyway, I need to get loans because I am paying for all of colleges expenses myself, so when should I do that if I am beginning school this fall?Answer: If your just starting college, meet with a high school ...
If your just starting college, meet with a high school advisor. They usually have a lot of the paperwork you need to fill out for loans. They can tell you about the different types of loans available and repayment options. If you've been out of school for a while and haven't started college you should meet with financial aid advisors at the college you are planning to attend. They will also explain everything to you and actually may have more information than a high school counselor. Hope that helpsAnswer: go ahead and do it now. Go to the school you will be ...
go ahead and do it now. Go to the school you will be attending and ask if you qualified for anything like stafford loansAnswer: A loan is "other aid". You need to make contact ...
A loan is "other aid". You need to make contact with your colleges financial aid office and ask them if they need anything else from you to complete your financial aid file. (sometimes they require copies of tax forms, have you fill out "data forms", I've seen them ask for copies of drivers licenses....) anyway, find out what they need and fill it out or download it and send it to them.
Once they complete your file they will issue you and "Award Letter". This is a detailed letter offering you financial aid (loans, parent loans, scholarships, fee waivers etc.) You are usually given the option to either "Accept" or "Decline" each specific one.
Good luck.Question: Financial Aid Help...what's the best ones?
I applied for financial aid and they turned me down saying we make too much money...are there any that will give it to you...??Answer: I did the FAFSA and was turned down for a pell grant, but ...
I did the FAFSA and was turned down for a pell grant, but what happened was the application was turned into university, and in turn, I was given a grant from school.
go to fastweb.com and apply for scholarships :)Answer: Fastweb.com is definately a great website that can help you ...
Fastweb.com is definately a great website that can help you find the best scholarships that apply to your major, as well as inform you which loans (if thats your last resort) are best for you. Also, try to appeal the decision. You will need to write a short essay explaining why you are asking for the change in decision. It may not work, but, what do you have to loose?
I was turned down, wrote an appeal letter, and was granted pell grant.Answer: I work for the University of Minnesota and get tuition ...
I work for the University of Minnesota and get tuition paid for through a special scholarship fund set aside for every employee.
Six credits cost me $113. And many universities have comparable programs.
If you make too much, and you're even THINKING about switching jobs, this might be a great way to save yourself thousands in loans, and then you can start enjoying that higher salary without the burden of $300-400 loan payments. |
