Money to help pay for college. Mostly in the forms of grants, scholarships, and loans.
Answer: financial aid is money that is loaned to you (you pay back) ...
financial aid is money that is loaned to you (you pay back) or given to you in a form of a grant (you dont have to pay back). depending upon your parents income and or your income will in most case determine how much aid you will be eligible for. this is how I got into college....i applied for financial aid on a FASFA form. you must complete this form with your parents/your income. it is submitted to the department of education and if you are awarded any money you will be notified by a reward letter. it will outline how much money you are eligible and if you are eligible for loans and grants. depending up your parents/ your income, you may not be eligible for grants. long story short....i applied for financial aid (single mother income) and was awared enough grant money to pay for that entire year. I only had to pay $43.33 for that entire year to the university because grants and scholarships was shy $43.33. . I had to purchase books--i didnt think that fair ahead. if you are still in high school, I would suggest applying for some scholarships to help to pay for books. books in college can cost as much as $600. dont forget about the other things you will need and especially want. think ahead as much as you can. you can also think about taking your core classes (english, math and foreign languages) at a community college to cut down on the cost. you can complete two year a CC and go to a 4 year coll/uni to complete your degree. hope this helps.
Answer: without going into great detail, financial aid is the amount ...
without going into great detail, financial aid is the amount of education at your school, including tuition and fees, minus the amount you might be able to earn while working at the school, minus the amount of money they think your parents should contribute,(which is based on their income, family size, how many other kids are going to school, medical bills, etc.)
then, the counselors take into account what you could receive from PELL grants, which are not paid back, and guarenteed student loans, which you will pay back. How's that

I am Jessica Smith, am telling you that I would have been dead by now if not for this God sent man, Mr. Davin Liam. He operates a registered and government approved financial institute called Broadlinks Conglomerate Inc, with an incorporated loan lending unit which I saw an advert on the internet. I applied and obtained loan of 35,000USD with unbelievably less stress that saved son who was a drop out from becoming a gangster by re-instating him in school and I successfully underwent surgery of the eye (Glucoma). Thank God am up to responsibilities again and have paid the loan I procured.
If you are in dire need of a genuine loan, you can contact Mr. Davin Liam via davinliam_loanfirm@yahoo.com
Question: I am confused about Financial aid and Pell Grants!?
I'm 22 and living back at home currently. about to go to college online. Im currently on Social Security Income due to a temporary disability. I applied for the FAFSA and was told by college that I might also qualify for a Pell Grant of some type. Im a little confused about the money situation.
I was always under the impression if you made little income then you werent required to pay back financial aid. is this true? because advisor told me something like I have to pay them back half or something, but Im not sure if thats correct or not.
also. if I qualify for a pell grant which I will find out in a few days do I have to pay that grant back? how much are pell grants typically?
Answer: I didn't think someone could get SS for a temporary ...
I didn't think someone could get SS for a temporary disability. Is your intention to go to work after you graduate? If so, you need to contact the Vocational Rehabilitation office in your area. They also help with tuition and fees and books to get you back in the workforce.
Anyway, the key here to answering your question is you have chosen an "on-line" school....
Which typically is 10X the cost of real schools. It is true you do NOT have to pay back Pell grants, but at on-line schools Pell is not enough to cover everything and you have to take out loans to make up the difference. Yes, loans ARE considered financial aid.
If you qualify for a Pell grant, it can be anywhere from roughly 400 to 4,500 a year.
If you take on line classes at a community college your cost could be enough to be paid by all Pell grants with enough left over to pay your books, get a computer, and maybe put some cash in your hands for misc items.... or you go to an on line school and pay what it would cost to go to Harvard.
Read this book. It will help.
Question: Can you qualify for financial aid or grants if you only want to take 1 or 2 classes in a semester ?
At a junior college.
Answer: FAFSA requires at least half time in regards to credit, ...
FAFSA requires at least half time in regards to credit, which is normally 2 classes that are 3 credits each. The more credits you take per semester the more financial aid you would qualify for depending on your EFC. Good luck!
Answer: I noticed that you wrote "At a junior college" and ...
I noticed that you wrote "At a junior college" and have more information for you.
First, you are eligible to apply for Federal Aid and grants at your junior college. Please note that when filing the FAFSA you need to list your school's name as "the college you will be attending" and also list their Federal school code on the FAFSA. Sometimes students overlook one or the other.
Next, you will not be eligible for aid by taking only only class. You do need to take at least two 3-credit hour classes to be considered for Federal Aid and grants. By enrolling in two classes this will qualify you as a half-time student.
Then, you need to note your State's FAFSA deadline as well as your school's deadline. This can be obtained by simply calling the Financial Aid office at the junior college you'll be attending.
Finally, something you need to keep in mind is that the Financial Aid might come in form of a Federal Stafford loan if you do not qualify for any free money. It is important to learn about and pay close attention to current student loan interest facts.
Best of luck to you.
Answer: If your income is low enough you can qualify for a Pell ...
If your income is low enough you can qualify for a Pell taking 1 or 2 classes. However, if you are not low income and don't qualify for pell, most schools require you to be full or at least half time to take out student loans.
Question: Can I get financial aid from 2 different schools at the same time?
I am currently enrolled at a local community college pursuing AS in Nursing, but right now I am working part time as a customer service rep and wanted to start getting experience in what I was going to do in the future(nursing), so I wanted to attend a local tech school to get a certificate as CNA or Tech(takes about 8 weeks) My question is is it possible to get finacial at both schools or will I have to pay for one out of pocket?

Nope, if you try and do it the government will come after you for fraud! I attended two schools at once while working on undergrad degree, I just took out extra loans at the school I was getting aid from to pay for the other school.

Normally not. You get grants for one school only. But if you are taking some different course in some other school and your financial background is very poor, in that case the school may arrange something for you.

Question: When will I know How much I received from Financial Aid?
Answer: It depends on if you have been accepted into your school of ...
It depends on if you have been accepted into your school of choice. My daughter received her award letter after she had been accepted in less than a month. Her fafsa was completed earlier.
Answer: You're informed after you get your letter of acceptance, ...
You're informed after you get your letter of acceptance, though some financial aid letters come with the acceptance letters. It depends on the school and when you applied and what kind of admissions they have. You also have to have completed the FAFSA form. But all schools expect you to be decided by May 1st or so, so they should come by mid-April.
